Primal Fear is a massive Dino mod. This mod adds varying tamable tiers of Dinos, as well as special boss Dinos. Toxic, Alpha, Apex, and Fabled Dinos are math based, and are 3x, 5x, 10x 16x vanilla stats. Almost every creature has an alpha variant. Apex variants are carnivorous fighters, and Fabled variants are passive work horses. On top of Dinos, this mod also adds varying items to enhance game play. These items include a tranquilizing system, healing items, Dino blood, multiple sets of armor, tranquilizing pike, taming helpers, wake up stimulant, and more!

It was first announced at E3 and planned for release in February , [1] but is currently not in development. It will feature full survival mechanics and lifecycles, including mating, growing, recruiting more creatures to the "pack" and constructing primitive dens. The playing experience will differ depending on which creature the player is taking control of. As a Raptor , players can communicate and coordinate tactical attacks on other species. As a Titanomyrma the focus is on survival against the elements and building a thriving colony centered around ant hills. However, it is implied that eventually all creatures will be playable. Primal Creatures are the first tier of bosses in Primal Fear. They are quite hard to miss with a full black body, a red outline, a thick red aura, old Dragon OST playing while near them, as well as being noticeably larger then their vanilla dino counterpart. Like the majority of Primal Fear bosses, they are untamable. Some creatures such as the Apex Giganotosaurus boast a fairly high amount of knockback with their attacks; if one has enough movement speed as well as knockback, you can kill almost any primal without being hit once, the main exception being the Primal Giganotosaurus , since the movement speed required to backpedal out of its range is quite excessive. In terms of stats, Primals boast a rather large amount of health with the lowest still being around 5 million.
