While the night gameplay will feature gameplay recognizable to the original POPGOES, the Mysterious Section will have gameplay utilizing a new cast of characters dubbed as the " False Animatronics ," which are distorted and exaggerated hallucinations of the Toy Animatronics. The original plan for these sections would revolve around collecting something important each night by completing puzzles. These puzzles were "fairly complex" and was similar to an escape room experience. This idea was later scrapped into something simpler after realizing it would take a very long time to complete. However, due to delays in the development it was clear to the team it wouldn't get a release. It was their believe it was necessary for the audience to know the name change as soon as possible.
