I've been scouring the internet for a few days now and haven't really found a good answer to my question.

When the new Graphtec CE cutter was delivered, an engineer came round and got me started with a brief introduction. I was shown how the different settings apply and received some basic tips including a good explanation about the importance of the offset setting. An incorrect offset setting means less accurate corners and more difficult weeding. I haven't had to re-adjust the offset yet as the variety of vinyl I've used to date has been limited; but at least I was made aware of it, so when I do use a different degree blade or thicker vinyl, I'll know what to do. While the engineer was there we did a few test cuts with the offset at different settings so that I could recognise when it is set incorrectly. Because the centre of the blade is not where the cut is usually made, the machine has to send the centre of the blade past the point to be cut, by an amount that relates to the offset see diagram left ; otherwise the blade will cut past or not up to the point it is supposed to and therefore the cut lines either don't meet or they overlap, and weeding the vinyl becomes difficult.

I got a new HP computer with windows I can't get it to recognize my graphtec ce When i plug in the. Hopefully after you downloaded the driver you extracted and ran it. So which cutting software are you using? Did you set the correct Command on the vinyl cutter, for the cutting software? Go into your printers and devices and make sure the driver installed correctly. Why did you change computers? Your cutter should stay on a dedicated computer, many problems with Windows I still am back on Windows XP, with my Graphtec, because it is very stable. You don't need a fancy new computer to run a vinyl cutter. My other computer crashed. I did extract it and run it. It is not showing on my list of devices. I have uninstalled it once and reinstalled it.

For Sale. Sign in Already have an account? The only complaint I've ever had was from a 3m film I was forced to sell when my cutter went down and I had to have a local sign shop make some decals for me in the plotter graphtec ce5000 time.

The two images below show the corners becoming rounded off when an incorrect offset has been used to cut a 1cm square of vinyl. The vinyl should have been cut to a perfect square with the triangle inside it as the third image shows. I had two problems only when using the Graphtec CE and neither of these were to do with the machine itself. The first was to do with accurate cutting over long lengths.

Have you tried that? At the moment I don't have plans to branch out beyond basic decals but it's good to know the increased pressure could be useful if I did. I'm really just looking for any solid reasons to choose between the CE and CE at this point. So which cutting software are you using? Yes, I did. I did just notice that the CE bundle comes with an extra year of warranty over the CE, which could be useful. The Graphtec CE 24" and CE 48" professional cutting plotters update the extremely successful CEMk2 series with improved features, as well as a cleaner, "greener" electronic design and manufacturing process to minimize the environmental impact of the equipment throughout its life cycle. Now, I notice that he has clarified and will accept a 24" Graphtec. Unfortunately I didn't pull the trigger fast enough on it so now I'm left weighing more expensive options, even if they do come with higher recommendations. I was only comparing apples to apples, MH 30" to Graphtec 30" -- The discussion about 24" vs. Guys I didn't see anywhere that JHew was talking 30" machines. I was shown how the different settings apply and received some basic tips including a good explanation about the importance of the offset setting. I don't know what the advantage is here.

I don't mind spending the extra money and getting the newer model, I just want to have peace of mind that I'm not just buying a newer name plate on the case. I was pleasantly surprised to see how this worked straight away with no problems. I can't do anymore. I was using a plotter pen rather than a blade and the CE drew precisely round the logo that I had printed, showing what would have been a perfect cut. I hope this helped you. I certainly had no intention of rehashing that here. Have you tried that? I recently started doing sand blast and my Summa only goes to g and it is JUST enough to get through the cheap sandblast resist that USCutter sells. I am not ashamed to admit that I schedule dinner 'genius' appointments with the 6-year old niece, so she can show me cool things on my iPhone. I got a new HP computer with windows My daughter has a laptop with windows 8 on it I thought maybe i could try to use it to see if i could get it to work on that. Well, unless he's like 3-years old or something.
