Playa Marsella is probably the best place to visit by the whole family. A dirt road leads to the beach through the Marsella Valley, which is best overcomed by cross-country vehicle during the rainy season, playa marsella.

Each beach is unique - with it's own geography, ocean currents, and patrons. Part of the fun of staying in town is the easy access to explore all these different San Juan del Sur beaches, whether by shuttle, rental car, or taxi. We explored 8 of the San Juan del Sur beaches during our stay, and each one was super different from the last. Some we loved more than others, but each was an interesting stop.

The most common way to reach Playa Marsella is by flying into Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in Managua, the capital city of Nicaragua. From there, you can hire a taxi or take a shuttle to San Juan del Sur, and then travel by local transport or taxi to Playa Marsella. Yes, Playa Marsella is easily accessible. It is located near the main road that connects San Juan del Sur to other towns in the area. The road leading to the beach is mostly paved, but there might be some rough patches. Most accommodations in the area offer parking facilities. The dry season, which lasts from November to April, is generally considered the best time to visit Playa Marsella. During this period, you can expect sunny weather and warm temperatures. However, please note that Nicaragua has a tropical climate, so brief rain showers can occur even during the dry season. Playa Marsella offers a range of accommodation options, including hotels, hostels, guesthouses, and vacation rentals. Some establishments are located right on the beach, while others are slightly inland but still within walking distance.

With a long, white sandy beach stretching from one end of the bay to the other, Marsella is strikingly beautiful. And the large rock formation in her bay is her well known vista. Playa Marsella is located just north of San Juan del Sur.

With a long, white sandy beach stretching from one end of the bay to the other, Marsella is strikingly beautiful. And the large rock formation in her bay is her well known vista. Playa Marsella is located just north of San Juan del Sur. It is only about 10 kilometers from town though a minute drive depending on road conditions as the Chocolata Road aka, the Coast Highway Road is a dirt road in the dry season and a muddy road in the rainy season. You may want to stop for a round of Frisbee Disk Golf or a walk along the river on their nature trail to see some howler monkeys and parrots.

The waves are large enough to provide some excitement but not so big that they will knock you over or cause any damage if you get caught in one while swimming. You can also take a chicken bus from the municipal market in San Juan del Sur heading to El Ostional and ask to be let out at Playa Coco. Because you're removed from town, it does take awhile to get anywhere, especially if you don't have a car. Playa Marsella is a more secluded and peaceful destination compared to the bustling beaches in the region. The San Juan del Sur beach directly in town is not the prettiest beach in the world, but it is actually quite picturesque.

Playa Hermosa is Great for: A truly beautiful beach, a relaxing day, and an amazing swim. Swim in San Juan del Sur: The water here is extremely calm making it a great fishing port so it is possible to go for a dip in the ocean. Well then come here! You can only get there by boat, but you could hire a lancha in town and take it out there for the day. It is a long, flat sandy expanse sandwiched between dramatic sheer cliffs on each side. This was one of the best ocean swims I've ever had in my life. Visitors can easily access the town to explore its vibrant nightlife, variety of restaurants, shops, and other amenities. Many thanks.
