I want a manure fork for picking manure piles from my Coastal Bermuda pastures.
I got my shipment from State Line Tack on Wednesday afternoon. UPS and FedEx are slowly figuring out how to navigate my long ass driveway and turn around. But woohoo, Tate now has a stall guard. More airflow yes please. He loves his air conditioning the stall door kept a lot of cool air out and hot air in at night! I also got my cross ties yes no more feral horses ha I just had to rig them up with baling twine due to the limitations of how damn wide my aisle is , and a new pitchfork that is perfect for my pellets, and a few other things so yay! I have a shipment coming by tomorrow from Smartpak for Tate his fly mask and sheet and I am a bit pissed that the UPS tracking for my order yesterday says that everything was delivered but the box that came did not have my better bucket in it.

Hello Smart People! I have a plain old plastic manure fork that is useless for frozen-ish poops in barn and haybale area plastic tines snap. If the manure is frozen to the ground I either kick it loose or I use a hammer to dislodge it. Then I simply use my plastic fork to clean it up. I have used a 10 tine metal fork to clean stalls many times in my life. They always came with the same length handle as the plastic forks do. Can you just buy a new handle for the fork you have that you like, that the handle is too short for you? Use a shovel to go around and knock the poops loose, then use your manure fork. Takes a little longer, but you can mostly stand upright for the whole operation. I was tapping poop with a sledge hammer this morning, and then picking it up with my plastic fork. In the stalls, I just rake the frozen poop into a pile, then switch to my plastic forks to pick from that pile, shaking out shavings as usual. Easier than ramming them with a metal pitchfork or shovel for me. My preferred is a long-handled pickaxe with a flat head on one side.
It has seriously been a game changer.

A well-designed manure fork should be lightweight, durable, and allow for easy pickup with minimal spillage. Sadly not. Most manure forks are lacking in at least one of these areas. But here are 5 of the best that tick all the right boxes. While they may differ in their construction, with some being made from polycarbonate and others steel, along with their capacity, and number of tines, rest assured that they will get the job done and withstand extensive, daily use. The Little Giant DuraPitch 2 is a favorite with people who clean several stalls every day. Firm but flexible the fork is well-designed to ensure no shavings are left behind. A common problem with some manure forks is material falling out the sides and back but there is no issue to be found here. View on Tractor Supply. Yet it also manages to be lightweight, weighing just 2.

I LOLed at the nutribullet comment. One is a loose hay fork and a big one at that. They other favorite is a 6 tine manure fork that is getting well worn on the tines and handle.
