Ping rapture driver
By Nachosgrande January 1, in Equipment. Was cleaning out the basement and found my old Ping Rapture driver. Decided to throw it in my bag just for fun and I quickly remembered why I loved that thing so much, ping rapture driver.
The Ping Rapture Driver uses carbon composite and titanium in a powerful and forgiving head designed to be easy to hit, long and high fl ying. The Rapture looks nice too and sounds pure at impact due to acoustic engineering. Pro Verdict: A good looking solid driver which produced impressive stats for me although I still prefer its better and cheaper! G10 sister. Ordered one of these after a fitting in January to replace my G5 Driver of which the face had split just 3 months after purchase Was not happy about that!

The new Ping Rapture V2 Driver has a cc head which has been manufactured out of titanium and tungsten, while external tungsten weight pads help make it more forgiving and lower the spin rate. For the techies, the crescent-shape tungsten weight pads at the back of the titanium head move the CG lower and deeper which helps to optimise launch off the face, and the perimeter weighting means this is fantastically forgiving. Launched last September, the club also features a taller face of variable thickness, designed to increase ball speeds from a bigger face area. But then lots of them do something similar: what set this aside as our best on test? Well, for one it looks like a proper driver! This is a club that somehow manages to look futuristic and traditional at the same time. George had this just behind the MX in his own reckoning, with Jon and Roy rating it as top-notch. Roy loved the subtle lime green alignment aid and also achieved impressive distance. In fact, this was our longest on test across our four testers. The noise at contact is quite something and although not totally conventional in the opinions of our testers, they liked it. Yet another great club from a brilliant club manufacturer! Looks : 4 Feel : 5 Noise : 4. Leon already owns one of these and is extremely happy with it so was sold on the benefits. A slightly lower dispersion and looks rating just held it back. Looks : 4 Feel : 4 Noise : 3.
Perhaps a good club for those who can't get the ball up in the air, whilst I stand corrected I consider it a dog. Had the set way back when. Got the Rapture with the VS Proto 65X shaft and was fitted with it purely because upon test at Gainsborough I was ping rapture driver the balls out of the range into the main road with it.
The look and feel of the club is very similar to the excellent Ping G5, but that is where the similarities end. Ping have 'maxxed-out' on all the available technologies for the Rapture range and the driver is no exception. Due to the lighter head, the face is more forgiving with a higher launch angle and less spin. Certainly it is very easy to hit and makes a more solid, quieter sound than the all titanium G5 driver. The head design with the titanium lattice below the graphite looks good to us, but after a few hits you don't notice the looks, just the benefits. The result of this technology means that it is longer, with initial estimates make it around 7 yards longer than the G5. However these extra yards come at a cost as the Ping Rapture will be a premium priced driver, so start saving!

The first was a I then changed to a 9 degree with a stock stiff shaft and gained an average of 20 yards off the tee.

Are you tired of searching for the perfect golf driver? Look no further than the Ping Rapture driver. This driver features a titanium face, tungsten perimeter weighting, and a carbon composite crown. The clubhead measures at cc and the loft options range from 9 to 13 degrees. When it comes to the design and performance of the Ping Rapture driver, this driver exceeds expectations. The tungsten weighting helps to stabilize the clubhead and keep the ball on a straighter path. The carbon composite crown also works to lower the center of gravity and increase clubhead speed, resulting in more distance on every shot. One of the standout features of the Ping Rapture driver is the streamlined shape. The aerodynamic design helps to reduce drag and increase swing speed.

I had to make a swing, than look up to see if i made contact with the ball. Popular Post. I like them both, but I hit the Rapture a little straighter and higher. What we say But besides the looks, the first thing I noticed performance-wise was how light and fast this driver felt. I used it for a handful of rounds then the Ho in me started barking and I quickly realized why i kept it in the extra staff bag at home Yet another great club from a brilliant club manufacturer! Picked By easyyy , February 2. But overall, the G5 just felt clunkier and slower than the Ping Rapture. Join the conversation You can post now and register later. You can keep these expensive modern adjustable drivers the Ping Rapture driver is awesome and a great buy.
Even into a breeze the Rapture V2 produced high-flying, long drives. We felt the lime green alignment aid was more distracting than necessary, but this did not take away from the high levels of forgiveness on offer.
Posted January 2, Perhaps the best thing about this driver for high handicappers is its speed. I hit it pretty well but muted didn't even begin to describe it, I used to say it felt like hitting a driver that had a pillow taped to the front of it. Will we ever get another driver that feels and sounds as good as the original Ping Rapture? Perhaps a good club for those who can't get the ball up in the air, whilst I stand corrected I consider it a dog. Popular Days Jan 1 10 posts Jan 2 8 posts Jan 4 2 posts. It took about 5 or 6 swings to "get the feel" of the new club, but then, POW! The SLDR had a sweet spot? I just received the new Ping Rapture driver today and immediately went to the range to give it a try. You can actually see the carbon fiber weave throughout the gorgeous black crown. But do the premium looks translate to premium performance? Certainly I prefer my G10 much more. Might have been the best sounding modern driver I have played. Facebook Comments.
