PhET Interactive Simulations , a project at the University of Colorado Boulder , is a non-profit [1] open educational resource project that creates and hosts explorable explanations. It was founded in by Nobel Laureate Carl Wieman. PhET began with Wieman's vision to improve the way science is taught and learned. Their stated mission is "To advance science and math literacy and education worldwide through free interactive simulations. Founded in , the PhET Interactive Simulations project has created more than simulations of physical phenomena and mathematics that are engaging millions of learners of all levels, from grade school to grad school. To help students access and deepen their understanding of core STEM concepts and practices, PhET simulations use innovative approaches, such as making the invisible visible through dynamic interaction, graphics and feedback.
