The Shifter class offers players a way to experience a shapeshifting character that is more martially inclined than a spellcasting druid. They are humanoids with a bestial aspect; while they cannot fully change shape they can temporarily enhance their animalistic features — a state they call shifting. Whatever their origins, shifters have evolved into a pathfinder wrath of the righteous shifter race. Do they embrace their primal instincts or the path of civilization?

Dragonblood shifters draw upon the inherent strength and majesty of the true dragons, gaining a measure of their powers from their association. A dragonblood shifter can temporarily imbue her body with draconic majesty as a swift action. When activating this ability, the dragonblood shifter must select one of the chromatic or metallic dragon types. Her draconic aspect abilities grant resistances and deal a type of damage based on the chosen dragon type. While shifted into this form, she gains the scent ability and energy resistance 5 against the energy type that corresponds to her selected dragon type; also, whenever she prevents damage with either the resistance or the immunity provided by her draconic aspect ability, she heals a number of hit points equal to the amount of damage prevented. The duration does not need to be consecutive, but it must be spent in 1-minute increments. The dragonblood shifter can select a different dragon type every time she uses this ability, but she must end her current draconic aspect and activate this ability again in order to change her chosen dragon type.

The class is perfect for that because strength is also recommended in the cc. I know i loose access to all the other shift forms but the Dragon shift form is all i need. Shifters are protectors of druidic circles and avengers of nature, yet a shifter's magic is different from that of her druidic kin. Rather than invoking spells from the natural world or forging alliances with animals, shifters focus their supernatural powers inward to gain control over their own forms. Their ability to change their forms is as varied as the wonders of the wilds themselves but always remains at least partially rooted in the natural world. There are many paths to becoming a shifter; most are trained in that role by druidic circles and have their powers unlocked via rituals of initiation.

Base Shifter is also great. I haven't yet, but my husband is currently playing a shifter of the Dragon based archetype.
