After going through some water my check engine light came on. I didn't pay any attention until I got out on the freeway and realized the tranny was stuck in 2nd gear. When I got home I ran the codes and it showed p which means I have a solenoid switch valve sticking. After doing some research I've realized this is inside of the valve body. Before ordering a valve body I'm just wanting to make sure it will fix it. I've already changed out the fluid and filter.
It was a p1776 jeep damp in the plug but I dried it out and put dielectric grease on the plug. The light began to remain on and I was getting ready to take it in but I tried to get one last trip in it when the transmission just stopped moving the car, p1776 jeep.
Couple days later, now it also shifting real hard, sometimes not wanting to leave 2nd gear, if I can get it up to 50mph it shakes real bad. I'm a single mom on a budget. I've usually google or utube what I gotta do and do it myself. I looked for this code and common troubles associated with it. It points primarily to transmission, valve body and solenoid issues, but I wouldn't go there yet My comments are in red:. EMCC is inhibited and transmission system will default to orderly shutdown routine.

This code is typically associated with a faulty Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Valve or issues with the wiring harness and connectors. The cause could be an open or shorted circuit, poor electrical connection, or low transmission fluid. To fix the issue, visually inspect the wiring harness and connectors for any damage.
