P and P Evap System Leak. Thread Tools. It started with my gas cap indicator light on my dash, followed weeks after with a check engine light. I did a LOT of research on these codes and replaced the cheapest and common fixes first. Started with replacing the gas cap twice , replaced the vapor leak detection pump under the truck by the charcoal canister, and replaced the purge solenoid valve under the hood, all of which I replaced myself. After watching countless videos, these replacements typically solved most of the problems that people had with these codes, but not mine.
