Ozzfest 1998

Ozzfest is an annual music festival tour ozzfest 1998 the United States and sometimes Europe and later Japan, featuring performances by many heavy metal and hard rock musical groups, ozzfest 1998. Over the years, a variety of bands have made up the yearly lineups of Ozzfest , a yearly heavy metal music festival that usually tours the United States in summer. The Columbus show was cancelled when Osbourne lost his voice. Ozzy's band as well — they were nice people. When they [the audience] were told that we weren't going to be playing at the end and Ozzy wasn't going to be showing up, they just fucking wrecked the place… We had to reschedule it [for July 1]. Some 39, fans were at the hour, six-stage, band event. Just before the tour, Soulfly took the place of Ministry amidst a management changeover. Disturbed was moved to open the Main Stage.

Back in the mids, the notion of a travelling, all-metal festival was batshit crazy. But when Lollapalooza refused to put Ozzy on the bill, a frustrated Sharon Osbourne was spurred on to create a mini touring festival of her own, and Ozzfest was born. Digging deep into its evolution, we asked 10 of its veterans to talk us through their memories from the last 20 years of chaos. It would soon become a globe-touring behemoth, but the first ever Ozzfest made just three stops: Phoenix, San Bernardino and Anchorage. It may have been a slow and steady approach, but there were no compromises with the lineup: Ozzy topped the bill, backed by Slayer, Danzig, Biohazard, Sepultura, Fear Factory and Narcotic Gypsy. The second stage, meanwhile, featured the likes of Neurosis and Coal Chamber. Not a bad way to usher in a festival sea change. We knew were part of something special.

In some of its touring years, the festival has also featured dates in Europe. The show was founded by legendary hard rock musician Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne, his wife, in , and has since become one of the biggest heavy-metal and rock festivals in the world, drawing fans who enjoy the same type of music heard on the Warped Tour or the Gathering of the Juggalos. The Ozzfest tour features a wide variety of heavy metal and hard rock bands. The different styles of music highlighted during the tour include hardcore punk, black metal, industrial, thrash metal, alternative metal, and death metal. Metalheads everywhere are welcome here and OZZfest is no different. With an already established career, Ozzy was successful in bringing in the crowds to see him play along with numerous big-name and indie bands in Phoenix, Arizona for a two-day music festival and again in California in October. With a first-year hit, the OZZFest tour went into full mode planning for the next year. OZZFest enjoyed major commercial success in the early part of and over the next several years. Both the and tours were recorded and produced into albums which were also very successful, and parts of the OZZFest tour were also covered by MTV. Though the OZZFest tour only offered tickets for one concert in Texas, it did feature some of the biggest names in the business including Metallica and Ozzy who headlined.
