The final Overwatch League event of the season ended with two teams fighting in Toronto to see which team was the best Overwatch squad in the world, and who was the sixth Overwatch League champion. The Toronto Defiant hosted one event for the Overwatch League before these finals—the Summer Showdown tournament in —but held the final event of the season, and potentially the league as we know it. The playoffs were a four-team double-elimination group stage, with two teams from each group qualifying for the Grand Finals stage. The group stage stretched from Sept. Note: The Playoffs were intended to be played offline at Esports Stadium Arlington in Arlington, Texas, with the Grand Finals to be hosted at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California, however, due to the ongoing situation surrounding the COVID pandemic , these events were cancelled and matches would be played using the regular season format, where West region teams travel to Hawaii to minimize latency between the two regions.
