Outer Wilds was an incredibly special experience, the kind of thing that only comes along very, very rarely. Echoes of the Eye , meanwhile, is merely an excellent adventure game. And speculation is, having the two bundled together is going to make it more difficult for future players of Wilds to have the same transcendent experience I did. As as a series of puzzles, yes yes, and those puzzles sometimes masquerede as social or environmental interactions. But more abstractly than that, they usually involve there being a Big Door at the end, and there are some number of Big Keys you need to find.

Outer Wilds is known for its hidden activities and missions, in all, it is a rather mysterious game that keeps you guessing what you need to do next and where to go. The same is to be said for its first DLC the Echoes Of The Eye , it seems that the actual access for the DLC is pretty much hidden, but there is a way you can figure it out and activate it. If you are stumped - like a lot of people will be - about how to access the DLC, then read on. Firstly you need to head to the Radio Tower that is found on Timber Hearth , this is located in the North of the planet, which is the red pole on the planet diagram at the bottom left of the screen. You can get to the Radio Tower by either flying there in your ship and landing next to it, which is the quickest way, or by getting your space suit on and using it to traverse the map until you locate it. Once you have managed to locate the Radio Tower you will find a tape to play on the barrel in the middle of the room. Play this and listen to what it has to say, then look to the walls where you will see a picture on each wall from the Deep Space Satellite.

Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye is a huge new slab of galaxy to explore. But, finding it is worth it I mean, you paid for it, right? Reading the accompanying placard in front of the exhibit will inform you that there is a Radio Tower on Timber Hearth, which was built to receive signals from a Deep Space Satellite , and that it contains the first pictures taken of the entire solar system. Those pictures are important so next we need to head for the Radio Tower. You can find this structure to the northwest of the village, on a grassy plain near some trees. You can see them in the gallery above. On the barrel in the middle of the tower, find a voice recorder that provides some important information. Upon entering The Stranger , you will emerge into the River Lowlands. In this area, you should see a raft ahead of you, and a river flowing. First, you need to push the raft into the water by following the prompt that appears when you approach. Once the raft is in the water, turn your attention to the four green orbs on board. These are the key to piloting the vessel, and you interact with them in much the same way you interacted with the turnstile that gave you entrance to the Stranger to begin with. Turn your flashlight on and point it at the orb facing in the direction you want to go. The Stranger is built with these vessels in mind, and as you navigate the world you will spot wooden platforms emitting a beam of light.
