Bloodborne is a video game that is extremely unforgiving to those who won't respect its gameplay mechanics and style.

He is the son of Kosm. The boss will not be visible before or while entering the boss room, only after the initial cutscene will the boss be present, back turned to the player. Most, if not all, of the melee attacks this boss does can be parried for visceral attacks, even those that involve him jumping. Some attacks are easier to parry, some are almost impossible. The critically acclaimed Bloodborne hosts a cast of challenging and interesting boss battles. The eerie setting of the From Software title opens up room for horrific character designs. Taking inspiration from the Lovecraftian mythos, Bloodborne provides players with one of the most unique experiences of the PS4 generation if not the history of video games. All of its visually pleasing qualities aside, the game can be incredibly difficult for a new player. The variety of challenging boss battles can be an intimidating bridge to cross. And the crowned king of these hard boss battles is awarded to the infamous Orphan of Kos fight. Heralded as one of the most challenging battles by fans and critics alike, the Orphan of Kos is a handful for even the most battle-hardened Dark Souls veteran. Kos's sporadic attack pattern, rapid speed, high damaging attacks, powerful long-range moves, and his unpredictability makes this boss one of the most difficult in gaming history. This guide will show players some solid tips and tricks to defeat the infamous beast. Keep in mind that this fight is frustrating even with these tips and tricks in mind, but with some resilience, he will be nothing more than trivial in no time. One of the most important ideas to understand when facing Kos is there are right and wrong ways to dodge his attacks. The most typical response to facing such a powerful enemy would be to dodge backward and to safety.

Slow two-handed downward chop performed at close range, sometimes to open a combo.

Its mouth is permanently fixed in a rictus grin and it constantly screams throughout the fight. A thin membrane is draped across its back like a cape, this transforms into a pair of wings when the Orphan enters its second form. The Orphan wields its placenta in combat akin to a club or flail, and it can tear pieces off to use as explosive projectiles. After it transforms, the placenta mutates into a weapon resembling a gigantic axe or glaive. Upon encountering the Orphan, it will initially ignore the player and stare up at the sky mournfully.

The Orphan of Kos is considered one of the toughest bosses not just in Bloodborne but of any Soulslike game. Only by finding and killing the Orphan to reunite it with its mother can the Nightmare end and the blood-drunk hunters find peace. Unlike most other bosses, the Orphan of Kos has two phases. The first starts with him turning around and immediately attacking. These include a slash which you should dodge to the left, a plunge which requires you to dodge backwards, firing a blood-orb to be dodged sideways, a leaping slam in which you roll forward to get behind him and the yoyo-like placenta spin, which you need to dodge forward. The second phase will begin after taking down half his health bar , when he transforms to seemingly grow wings, among other features. In addition to becoming far more aggressive, he gains new move sets that should be avoided by trying to stay at mid-range. These include blood-scatter shots that need to be dodged forward, a repeating swing that you need to dodge backward, a blood explosion in which to keep clear of the Orphan and calling down a lightning attack across most of the arena. Since the Orphan is a highly aggressive boss, players will need to also play aggressively. Using slow, heavy weapons is a viable strategy for those patient enough, but it requires excellent timing and luck.

This effect vanishes in 2nd phase. Prior to doing this boss and any of the DLC content, I had done all of the chalice dungeons content. Attack Patterns Phase Two. Im happy to have been born at the right time to enjoy souls games. So in the end what worked for me was to use 2H Ludwig and try to trigger his jumps - when he does it dont dodge but just run a bit forward, turn around and do a charged attack. Virtually impossible to dodge at close range; quickstep backward twice to avoid each wave or break his super armor with a Cannon shot to knock him out of it. Oedon Writhe Bug? Accepting of all that there is, and can be. It stands and fights like a hunter and its head and body have human characteristics. Despite being the offspring of Kos, the boss is NOT part of the Kin family and thus is not affected by Kinhunter attack bonuses, so use either Tempering, Nourishing or Adept gems instead depending upon which weapon you choose.

Developer FromSoftware has made a name for itself by designing some of the best combat and boss encounters over the last decade of gaming. This has continued to be the case with the most recent title Elden Ring , but some bosses from the developer's catalog still haven't been surpassed, such as many of the encounters Bloodborne throws at players.

Here is a list of the easier ones:. The eerie setting of the From Software title opens up room for horrific character designs. Visceral attacks looked good for the first few tries but I found out that I'm not good at it. Known as the hardest boss in the game and somehow I manage to beat it my first try. Leaps into the air and strikes the ground in front of him with a close to mid-range sword slam while hovering. You need to be brave and stay close to him and try to run behind him from the right side. If you are 18 years or older or are comfortable with graphic material, you are free to view this page. My first fromsoft game was Bloodborne, beat that screeching placenta on 7th try, 70 arcane and a fire saw spear with augur work wonders on that mf. The Orphan of Kos has no shortage of attack patterns. Phase 1 Strategy : Quickstep forward past his combo attacks, hit him once or twice and strafe or quickstep out of range before he can turn to face you. It's a cool fight but I don't think it's the hardest fight in BB and definitely not in all of the FS games. Heart is still pounding, too lol.
