Tuesday, March 22nd, PM. Elderly customer in 80's. Was sent 2 new X1 boxes without our asking, as Xfinity said our old ones will stop working in April. We are old people with TV's that are 25 years old. They only have cable in, on them. We will never use streaming, or voice command or on demand or record anything. We just want to turn the TV on and get the channels we pay for.

Share Nov 10, It has a user-friendly interface, excellent voice remote, and more integrated streaming apps than other DVRs. It also has a solid mobile app that lets you access your live channels, on-demand content, cloud DVR recordings, and subscription streaming apps on your mobile devices. But this everything-in-one box keeps us interested in the X1 despite those shortcomings. Our guide to Xfinity bundles has pricing and more info. Saturday, November 21st, AM. In addition to the accurate comments from dayziner, the guide in legacy service the "old interface" with easily-read white letters on blue background allows looking at listings for one channel at a time as much as two weeks in advance by "highlighting" a channel in the guide then pressing the guide button again. Vertical scrolling through the selected channel is quick and easy. I looked for this functionality in the X1 guide at a friend's house; it's not available with the dark, nearly unreadable X1 guide. Apparently, horizontally scrolling "into the future," was the closest equivalent and was very slow and awkward. I also like setting reminders in legacy service; I couldn't find an equivalent in the X1 guide. It would seem that those who designed the X1 guide don't use it themselves. I cannot get interested in voice-activated remote controllers, even if illuminated, with such a poorly-designed guide.

When you change channels, instead of just pressing the channel number once, you have to press enter afterward. Unfortunately, since we are phasing out the older legacy platform, it's not possible to go back to a legacy box. Also there is an X1 box on the bedroom 2nd TV that works fine, why were we sent a new one when we will never use the things it is for? I have sent a private DM now as well. This issue has been answered in private messages with support team. They only have cable in, on them. Except did they really have to make the remote click when you press the buttons? Do I need new TV's and then have a technician come out to the house? I deeply regret giving up the legacy box we had as the interface on the X1 box is not very intuitive and overly complicated for no good reason. Hello Danica , could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? I hate the whole x1 setup. FIX IT!!! Thank you Danica , we responded to your private message! New to the Community? When in on demand, instead of having a simple list of programs or movies you have to scroll back and forth and up and down searching through movie posters or DVD covers or whatever they are.

X1 is terrible. When you change channels, instead of just pressing the channel number once, you have to press enter afterward. The volume channel buttons are in the middle of the remote, not stupidly at the top. Tuesday, March 22nd, PM. Start Here. Well there is no way to choose from my old tv remote. Too many shows are displayed in the guide making room for only the first word in a show title. New to the Community? I hate the whole x1 setup. I completely agree with posts 1, 3 and 5. We just want to turn the TV on and get the channels we pay for. We are old people with TV's that are 25 years old. The X1 really is that bad. Apparently, horizontally scrolling "into the future," was the closest equivalent and was very slow and awkward. Totally ridiculous.
