Few singers are as attached to a single song in such a long career and while Glaser's version has its fans, for most, it will remain a Bobby Bare song. While most lists feature Anderson's work as a writer, few list any work of him as a singer. He had his share of number one hits, including "Still" and "I Get the Fever," but this early song of his in the closing days on the honky-tonk period is sadly overlooked and could be argued by purists to be his best work as a singer. But with "Together Again," his greatest song and in the Top, for me, is the over-looked but stunning Red Simpson he released in , one of the best honky-tonk numbers of its day.
