Late inthe chain abruptly shuttered all six of its locations in South Florida. It later added that all Florida locations are closed. When asked why the chain had closed its Delray Marketplace ocean one grille, a receptionist with Kite Realty Group, the firm representing Delray Marketplace, declined to provide any comment.

Below is a list of places that were inspected by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation last week in South Florida that had rodent, roach and or fly issues. Some places were ordered shut, while others were warned and require a follow-up inspection. The department has discretion on which establishments are ordered shut and which are not, and it should NOT be that way. Many of the places have very similar violations, if not the same, but the penalties are different due to a lack of standardization in the process.

A popular Coral Springs restaurant was ordered closed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation last week after inspectors discovered an assortment of serious food and safety violations. Ocean One Grille, located at North University Drive, has been ordered to shut down by health inspectors following a complaint inspection on March 8 that discovered 14 violations, many repeated, including the presence of live flying insects in various areas of the kitchen, food storage areas, and bar area. The report shows inspectors observed two live flying insects landing on clean pots in the dishwashing area and approximately 30 live flying insects in dry storage areas adjacent to the kitchen. Inspectors noted the areas were not separated by a door or any other barriers, and five live flying insects were observed landing on the wall in the kitchen, this was a repeat violation. Various food items were stored on the walk-in freezer floor and several food items were stored on the dry storage floor, which was another repeat violation.

Lunch specials include hearty orecchiette pasta mixed with artichoke hearts, spinach, tomatoes and chicken in a lemon-garlic sauce. Try the island salmon salad served with mixed greens, pistachios, and red onions, tossed with a tangy mango vinaigrette dressing. The dinner menu features flavorful items from the grill, including filet mignon and herb-crusted chicken chop. Seafood lovers can enjoy specialties such as the Bourbon barbeque salmon with leaf spinach, sweet potato raviolis and pecan brown butter. Go tropical and try the Caribbean mahi sandwich topped with seasonal avocado, Bermuda onion, lettuce, tomato and zesty mango habanero aioli sauce.

Observed approximately 30 live flying in dry storage areas adjacent to kitchen.

Published: March 14, , AM. Operator states item was prepared approximately 30 minutes ago. The restaurant then voluntarily closed for nearly a month to make itself as fly-free as possible. Observed Food surfaces not sanitized with raw and ready to eat products, No sanitizing solution set up. Observed approximately 30 or more live flies on sealed to go containers and shelves in dish room area away from kitchen area Operator started moving boxes of sealed to go containers , started cleaning drains, walls. Observed approximately 10 dead roaches on ground in ware storage room behind cook line. Food not maintained at 41 degrees Fahrenheit for more than 4 hours. Inspector advised operator to discard burger due to allergen awareness. Some places were ordered shut, while others were warned and require a follow-up inspection. Observed at front counter microwave. Observed raw opened shrimp dripping and stored in same container as prepped burgers.
