NCL Jewel. To be honest we were not very excited about the itinerary of this ship but we were going to spend time together as a family and the NCL Jewel had the cabin a Courtyard Villa we wanted for the week we could travel. Pool on the Norwegian Jewel. We weren't thrilled by the ports of call, but over all I was pleasantly surprised that we enjoyed what we did each day. There is no evening cabin turn down service , and I feel that the entertainment and food were not up to par of previous NCL cruises. I was not pleased with any of the excursions. I enjoy guest lecturers on sea days, but there were none. I was especially unhappy with the situation on the dock in Bangkok. Hard working friendly staff was excellent. This was a good way to visit an area of the world where we have not spent much time in the past, and avoid the snow and cold at the same time! Poor planning and organization top to bottom. We liked some of the places we visited very much but it was not the pleasant joyful cruise experience we are used to on Norwegian. We are hoping Norwegian makes it up to us on our next cruise to Hawaii as this will be our whole family including grandkids. Hopeful for a return to what we normally expect from Norwegian.
