Summer Camp will bring many new adventures and relationships! Real life, real issues, real solutions all experienced in a fun farm environment! My Farm Camps, a local summer camp located in beautiful Charlotte, North Carolina has announced their summer session schedule. Starting in their own backyard, the Hammond family has turned their farm haven into a learning opportunity for local children by offering unique experiences that can only be offered on a fully functioning farm. With the convenient location of being less than 5 miles outside of the suburban Ballantyne area, My Farm Camps offers a convenient, and memorable experience. My Farm Camps is founded on Christian values, and encourages their campers to connect with God through a natural lifestyle. Each morning, Denise opens up the session with a Morning Prayer and message. Every message is related to something that the campers may be confronted with that day including, trying new experience, showing a willingness to learn, and treating each other with respect. Denise also uses the animals to demonstrate how God created all living things and how we are all connected through Christ. Through these messages, Denise hopes to instill values in her campers that can be applied to their everyday life. During the week of camp, campers participate in daily farm chores such as feeding and grooming the animals, restocking hay in the hay loft, exercising the horses, and mucking out stalls. After campers complete their morning chores, they create crafts using materials that would be found on the farm, and are taken on trail rides where they put their horseback riding skills to the test. In the middle of the week, a local veterinarian comes to perform an exam on a couple of the animals. Campers are then given the opportunity to observe a professional veterinarian and some of the daily functions he performs.
