Mood Castings is looking for young ladies who can take fifty strokes of the cane on their bare bottoms. During the interview, Maya is honest and admits that she has previously had a screen test with another studio and took-thirty five strokes of the cane. So when Maya saw that Mood Castings wanted to meet and interview young ladies and was located much closer to home, she applied as soon as she could. The scenario is when she is found by the mistress of the house in a drunken state, she denies it emphatically. The fact that she denies drinking while supposedly working, while her breath smells of alcohol makes matters worse for her.

The six-part series will have an original soundtrack performed by Lecky, who also plays the leading role of Sasha Clayton, a year-old wannabe singer, and rapper with big dreams of becoming a major recording artist. Working with Shaheen Baig and the team to bring them to life on screen has been a dream. I cannot wait for everyone to see our super talented cast and live every moment with Sasha and them. Partly told through the songs she makes, Mood focuses on year-old Sasha Clayton, wanting to make it big as a major recording artist. But her world is turned upside down when she is kicked out of her family home and is forced to fend for herself.

As of yesterday, this no-budget project is now complete and I am thrilled to share it with all of you today. The whole point of this project was to create an engaging, teaser-style mood piece that could be sent to potential collaborators alongside the script and creative package. Since the success of the feature will hinge so heavily on the execution and style of the final product, I really felt that it was necessary to create a short piece like this as a mini proof of concept. That said, when it came time to actually execute the project, I was working with some extremely limited resources and had to think out of the box — especially during the development stage. In the end, I decided to pull some dialogue from a couple of scenes that I knew would stay in the next versions of the script, and marry it together with b-roll from other important scenes in the film. I also felt that this approach would help us logistically, since we would only need to shoot a single dialogue scene and everything else would be shot MOS. Although I had been thinking about doing this project for a while, the actual process of crafting the idea and then prepping for it happened very quickly. I needed to cast in practically no-time and unfortunately that meant I was not able to hold any auditions.
