What a game! Senators score a run in 5th and 6th innings to rally for title game victory over Scarlets. Tied with one out in the bottom of the sixth inning and runners on second and third base after a sacrifice bunt by Helena catcher Cole Graham, center fielder Manu Melo hit an pitch into a hard ground ball to a drawn-in infield and the ball was mishandled on the transfer to throw the ball home and pinch runner Colt Tietje slid into home for the game-winning run. Tietje was pinch running for designated hitter Walker Bennett, who singled on a ground ball up the middle to lead off the inning. Dowdy then capped his complete-game victory by stranding the potential tying run on first base with a ground ball to shortstop Bohden Bahnmiller, who flipped the ball to second baseman Aaron Fuzesy for the force out, to end the game. Fuzesy was named the tournament MVP after earning the tourney's first-complete game victory on the mound in the second round. In that game, he allowed just two hits while striking out three. On offense, he hit. He also scored twice and stole a base. Dowdy spread four hits and three walks over seven innings of work, while striking out three.
