Monsoon metal gear
Monsoon is a cyborg for the Desperado PMC.
He was one of the Winds of Destruction alongside Sundowner and Mistral , and was named after the seasonal wind systems that occur in West Africa and Asia-Australia. Monsoon was capable of magnetically dislocating his entire body to attack from a distance, and wielded Sai weapons called "Dystopia", which were enhanced via magnetic fields. He was fluent in Khmer, Chinese, and English. Unlike the other Winds of Destruction, he wasn't a former member of any military or paramilitary organizations prior to enlisting with the group. Instead, he was a former gang member. Full details on his past are unknown, although he claimed that he inherited his stance on killing people or ending up killed and his nihilistic views from the Cambodian capital city of Phnom Penh and the reign of terror from the Khmer Rouge regime and the Killing Fields between He also mastered the use of sai weapons, and his crime record was extensive enough to far outrank any ordinary gang member.

Sairos 10 years ago 1. I hadn't thought I would hear about Cambodia in a game, the mention of Phnom Penh. Monsoon grew up during the age of war and then the time of the Khmer Rouge. One of the most nightmarish and insane ruling parties ever to gain control of a country. The things that happened there, well, if you want to know just do a search of "Cambodia genocide" or "Khmer Rouge". Actually makes one feel some sympathy for Monsoon, turned into a monster by the nightmare he lived through.
Similar to his compatriots, Monsoon's codename was derived from a wind pattern on Earth.

The lyrics depict a gentle rain that washes away pain and suffering to bring them to a peaceful life, attempting to wash away the pain and suffering of one man in particular, but having no effect as the man has seemingly given up all hope. Upon realizing it has no effect, it transitions from a peaceful rain into a violent storm in a desperate attempt to erase the man's suffering, only dispersing on realizing the man is completely dead inside and is beyond hope. These lyrics seem to reflect on Monsoon's own life from his early childhood as a survivor of the Cambodian genocide, leaving him the nihilistic and hopeless man when encountered in the game. Aside from the fight against Monsoon himself, the instrumental version also plays when fighting against his spare body in R The song was also included in the BGM for the version 1. And it will come like a flood of pain Pouring down on me And it will not let up Until the end is here And it will come through the darkest day In my final hour And it will never rest until the clouds are clear Until it finds my dreams have disappeared.
