Some basic context, mizuno mp 64, I was playing and practicing a lot in got my handicap down to about five or six with big Bertha Irons then into Max fli revolutions Irons, loved the softness of the revolutions. Learned to love them, Then inall sorts of life problems combined with minor hip injury from over swinging the driver. Took a break but Just seemed to suddenly stop playing golf

They're awesome. That was a no from me, dawg. While the 8-PW are grain-flow forged from E, the 4- to 7-irons are forged from chromoly steel and outfitted with microslots. I guess the will feel a little bit different. But what do people think: is there any improvement whatsoever in terms of performance? Despite my failed dalliance with the Srixons, I'm not emotionally attached to gaming the MP64s forever. I love indulging in golf clubs — I also have a set of is which are great in a different way, that I am thinking about gaming this season.

When you first look at the Mizuno MP irons you get the feeling you have seen them before somewhere. Looking back we feel that Mizuno have combined the peripheral weighting from the MP irons with the diamond back cavity of the MP irons and we think this works well. Rumour has it these were designed with a lot of input from Luke Donald, especially in the area of turf interaction and the grinds around the heel and back of the sole are very subtle and give the club some smooth lines. This allows the sole to be a little wider than usual for an MP iron and the MP has the weight a little lower in the sole than the MP The diamond back places more weight behind the hitting area which did make it feel very solid at impact. Right throughout the set the trajectory was excellent and the MPs were pretty forgiving for a better players' iron. The longer irons were not as intimidating as others in this category, but the short irons disappointed slightly with their oversized profile. They didn't seem to fit in with a better player's set and didn't offer the level of workability we had anticipated, although the wedge is strong at 46 degrees. The MP will be ideal for low single figures golfers who want more control than the JPX Pro , even though there is not much in it. The MP's are the latest grain flow forged irons in the Mizuno range developed with the input of Mizuno tour professionals including Luke Donald who put them straight in his bag. Mizuno have created a beautiful set of irons that can be worked like a blade but have some added forgiveness. They will not give you that extra yardage your looking for, if you struggle for distance, but what they do give you is superb playability, feel, consistency and feedback. They just feel amazing and the flight is fantastic with a tight dispersion. These can be combined with the new H4 irons as a long iron replacements if you struggle with the long irons, which give extra forgiveness and higher launch. With numerous regional and national fitting centers it's essential to get custom fitted to get the best out of them.

Mar 28, at am. I am questioning whether all of the modern technology is such a massive increase versus the MP 64's, I am actually somewhat mizuno mp 64 the MP 64's still perform in today's game probably very similar to the JPX tour.

In the golf world these days, everything is about advertising. Every few months one company or another is debuting the latest and greatest in golf technology. It is promised that this new technology will add an insane amount of distance to your game as well as being even more forgiving than whatever is in your bag. Mizuno Golf, for the most part, has not really followed this route. Of course they advertise, but more than most companies, they let their products speak for themselves.

The arrival of new Mizuno irons is only slightly less predictable than Old Faithful. You can be all but certain that as the leaves are starting to turn, Mizuno will introduce 2 new sets of MP series irons. Sure, they threw us a curveball when the MP-H4s showed up instead of the MP, but otherwise, Mizuno releases run like clockwork. Fortunately, where Mizuno is concerned, predictable is anything but boring. The company has a well-earned reputation for producing some of the best, if not the best feeling irons in golf, and year after year each release not only looks great, they perform.

Review by: J13 — Updated Pros: Mizuno has hit a home run with these irons. My most recent set of Mizunos were the MPs. The MPs are certainly softer than the average forging, but the MPs just seem to melt at impact, like a hot knife through warm butter. Also the modern sized head and one of the best sole designs on record makes this a gem. Bottom Line: Mizuno moved forward by looking behind. It took the feel that got Mizuno to the big dance and paired that up with the latest technology in forgiveness for a players iron. This goes to show that Mizuno is listening to the public. These forged irons were historically reserved for the better golfers. Now, Mizuno offers different designs for all levels of skill.

Same height as the M2, but much straighter off the club face.

James recognised the classic Mizuno shape from the top straight away. A nice shade of grey on the face and feels soft yet powerful off it.

Waited for the ball to come down and WTH, with the roll out it was yards longer than balls hit with M1, and that is with a few toe shots. I am not judging — I mishit a lot of shots at first.
