All think that Mihawk will get killed by Shiliew, who will inturn be killed by Zoro as vengeance. But do you all remember that after the battle at Baratie, Mihawk gave his word to Zoro, that he will hold the title of World's strongest swordsman and remain in his prime strength and wait for Zoro to come back and challenge him again. He gave his word. And Mihawk strikes me as someone who'd keep his word at any cost. So don't you think Mihawk can be dethroned by Zoro and Zoro only? There are plenty of times promises have been broken in this series and while I would tend to agree that Mihawk is a somewhat more honorable person. Its not really his choice to lose.

In the past, Mihawk was known as the "Marine Hunter" [9] and had a reputation for being the rival of Shanks , one of the Four Emperors.
