The Marvel Universe has never been short on fiendish devils and menacing demons lurking deep within its shadows. Thankfully, there are just as many horrifying heroes willing to put themselves between the innocent and those that go bump in the night. With some help from Mephisto, this font of hate and suffering manifested in the form of what is Blackheart's now iconic, ink black form. In the years since, Blackheart has continued to torment a plethora of heroes, but none have made his infernal existence so trying as Johnny Blaze. Blackheart has also been on the receiving end of Johnny's wrath before and he has seemingly done everything possible to avoid coming to that same fate once again. The demon has seen Johnny defeat his ilk time and time again.
