Maggie and the Ferocious Beast is a Canadian animated children's television series created by Michael and Betty Paraskevas. The first full-length episode first premiered on Nickelodeon as part of the Nick Jr. A 5-year-old girl named Maggie creates her own map of an imaginary world known as Nowhere Maggie and the ferocious beast that, in reality, takes the characters nowhere. She imagines that the characters Beast and Hamilton Hocks are her best friends.

Somewhat unusually for cartoons of this type, both Michael and Betty Paraskevas were heavily involved in the show's creation and production, as well as all subsequent book releases. The show is about Maggie, a plucky and adventurous six-year-old girl who explores the strange and wonderful world of Nowhere Land. Her very best friend in all of Nowhere Land is the Ferocious Beast, an enormous but ultimately gentle polka-dotted creature who loves having fun. They're accompanied in their travels by Hamilton, a slightly neurotic but intelligent anthropomorphic pig who carries a cardboard box containing many strange and useful objects.

Maggie, Hamilton and the Beast meet a rabbit named Nedley and help him pull out his gigantic carrot. Maggie, Hamilton and the Beast have a lemonade stand, but no customers walk by. Meanwhile, the Beast fakes an injury so he can get a bandage like Maggie's. On a hot day, Maggie, Hamilton and the Beast are too tired to go to the beach, so Hamilton gets out a wading pool, but the Beast is too big to fit in it. Maggie, Hamilton and the Beast go to the Land of Umbrella Trees and one of the Beast's galoshes ends up stuck in a big puddle.
