Turbocharged horsepower, why do you want it? Four-stroke technology is not new technology, but is evolving technology within two of the four snowmobile manufacturers. Yamaha leads this with every model within its line using a four-stroke motor. The other leading manufacturer is Arctic Cat , whose ProClimb and ProCross chassis employ two motors; an electronic fuel injected two cylinder two-stroke that is cc big. Get the Flash Player to see this player. This four-stroke, with two large lungs, comes in two variants, turbocharged and non-turbocharged. During our springtime testing we only rode the turbo models. The forward-positioned vertical post gives a mountain rider the steering rotation needed to attack mountains in a wrong foot forward position. Now there are some under skin differences between the two ProClimb models, M8 and M that allow the two motors to fit inside the chassis. But, if the two models were not clearly marked by specific embossing, as to which was which, a person could not readily distinguish the two.

They are very heavy and you'll struggle to get one unstuck without help. And I don't know what it'll take to fix now because they're old enough a lot of the aftermarket options don't seem to be supported anymore. The worst case for a tuned sled is put head studs in the motor, and it is good for over hp. With miles on the one you are looking at I'd be planning on two new clutches, updated jack shaft and bearings, and heavy duty chain and gears in the chain case to make it really reliable. Thats weird ur blowing belts, the 13 I've been riding has miles so far and showing no wear at all on belt and its hopped up a little, might just be an isolated case, I find with this sled the extra power allowed a lil room for error when riding the trees as it made it easier to slow down a bit to get better positioned, but it also requires a fair bit more body english to maneuver than the my m8, all in all I really like the sled, also gets great fuel mileage for a hp sled. I do really love the idea of a 4 stroke for the lower end power for slower towing and for the less stinky exhaust. Even at low RPM, when the motor is off boost, it still has it.
