Lux sensor zigbee
As the title says.
Anyone got any recommendations for a zigbee lux sensor that I could use to better control lighting on overcast winter days? The Hue outdoor motion sensor reports lux and temperature. It does expose those values. The LAN driver I have reads those from the hub. I have an Edge driver that integrates with the Hue hub.

The values reported by zigbee2mqtt max out at , however the device instructions show it being able to generate values up lux. I am trying to measure outdoor lux levels and they clearly go above As is described in this Wikipedia entry:. If I read the Zigbee Cluster Specification correctly, the lux value should be returned by the devices as 16 bit value with a range of 1 to 0xFFFE corresponding to lux values from 1 to 3,, I am out of league here, but I understand Tuya devices report differently, perhaps this could be part of the problem. Also, I note that there can be max and min limits specified, but I hope a 1, lux limit is not specified. In searching similar issues, I found this discussion where there is some question about the correct formula:.
The Aqara light sensor and the hue multi sensor are other zigbee multi sensors that work with smartthings, but also require custom code.
I am looking for zigbee light sensors. I don't care of there are other sensors attached but light lux is required. I've found a number of posts here in the community forums but the sensors that I've tried to find seem to not be around anymore. The only current name brand Zigbee sensor I'm aware of that includes Lux are both the indoor and outdoor Philips Hue motion sensors. It does have some limitations on lux reporting frequency 5 minutes, not adjustable , but they are dependable and accurate. Not an offically compatible illuminance sensor, but there is a community driver for a Xiaomi Mijia light sensor.
As the title says. Are there any budget light lux sensors about 20 - 25 euros preferably zigbee that work locally on smartthings? The only lux sensor I know of that might have a local operation is the Sensative zwave strip. So not local at this time. The Aqara light sensor and the hue multi sensor are other zigbee multi sensors that work with smartthings, but also require custom code. An option… which I have used but not presently, is a basic external lux sensor, smart plug and an external led 10w light wired in.

I am looking for a comparison of the various motion sensor products available for Zigbee networks. I am already using some Aqara, Xiaomi and Tradfri motion sensors. Since I want to equip every room with a sensor now, I am looking into the various options available on the market. Since I am using zigbee2mqtt, I checked their supported devices:. They already list 43 compatible devices. Would it be great to have some feature comparison? Is there already e. From my experience, the Hue motion sensors, while expensive, are the best motion sensors for ZigBee. The battery last like forever, I have one that is still running on the same batteries when I bought it more than 3 years ago. They provide Lux and temperature as well and moubting and positioning id also really nice.

Anyone have any recommendations?
I've posed the question to them, Eric. Via observing the accent lights its been working satisfactorily for about 6 months now. I just put in a couple of Hue outdoor motion sensors. Worth noting I have this under a covered porch, so not exposed to the elements. I too tried to connect it there but without success, because Xiaomi light sensor are not supported by Phoscon App actually. Shaad David January 6, , am Only if the sun is very shiny, the value is approx 8. So I suppose that would be my 5 lux threshold. It would be interesting if there is some transformation either in the Zigbee2Mqtt or Mi Binding. I'm surprisingly having trouble outdoor light level sensor? Thanks for the info, frustrating! Which I prefer to a physical sensor anyway.
I am afraid, that I do not know.
