We are NOT a swim school and athletes must have strong basic swimming skills before joining. Athletes will gain skills that prepare them for any aquatic activity and water safety. When athletes are ready, they will be invited to move up to the club level.

The Long Beach Aquatics Federation is an independent aquatics club organized as to promote development of aquatics sports water polo and competitive swimming in Long Beach, California. Through the programs operated by its highly qualified coaching staff, the Federation will serve youth, high school, and adult water polo players and swimmers, providing them with a venue and opportunity to participate in the sports of water polo and swimming year-round. The existing Long Beach High School water polo and swim programs will continue to operate during their respective regular CIF high school seasons. In order to be able to practice and play in games during the club season athletes must be current members of USA Water Polo. C lub

The games attract players of all ages 10 and older, and all skill levels. Match times are 20 to 25 minutes of straight play, with 5 minutes between matches. This equates to 5-tominute quarters of traditional water polo but without all of the stoppages. Each match is a best-of-five games, with each game being played to five goals. It takes three games to win a match. During the all-day event, spectators can watch from the beach, while wading in the water, on boards around the courses and on boats anchored in the bay. Ever since the International Swimming Federation added Beach Water Polo as an Olympic event in , more and more have come to enjoy this sport in its nontraditional environment. The Beach Polo Cup was formed about when Robert Lynn was club director at Shore Aquatics and he saw interest in the sport growing. Another tradition is the first responders match for bragging rights.

As a boutique competitive swim club, our training is geared towards achieving maximum strength and avoiding injury.
