What gallery improvements has this funding enabled you to complete? Thank you! Lone Goat Gallery was established as a not-for-profit community gallery in a re-purposed conference room in , and was lacking a lot of standard gallery fittings and equipment. The funding has allowed us to create improvements to all aspects of the operation, from gallery presentation and equipment for the use of artists, to back of house administration, and improved public presence and visibility. The fit out has involved local electricians, plumbers, carpenters, builders, plasterers, painters, signage design, concrete polishers, lighting, furniture makers and equipment suppliers. We closed the gallery for four weeks in May to take care of most of the dirty work.

My grandmother's country from the Rainforest to the sea including the rivers, sacred sites, our creator and home Ironbark at Tallow Creek. This body of work showcases aspects of Arakwal country in the Byron Shire through the perspective of Nickolla Clark a local Arakwal Bundjalung artist living and working on Country. This practice has brought me closer to understanding and expressing the energy, spirit, cultural lore and stories from country and culture within each painting. The exhibition will explore my personal connection to the land and sea country with the many vibrant and subtle colours of my Country. The theme Gabul refers to my people's totem, the Carpet Snake. This is a good reflection on my heritage. Jagun is 'Country' which is fitting as all my artworks reflect the land in which we live and care for.

Buoys will be Buoys by Hannah Cutts is an exhibition that brings together many elements of art, craft, typography, satire and the found object. Many of the works are neon and Hannah works alongside neon sign artisan Michael Blazek. This marks the fifth exhibition over a decade that Hannah and Michael have joined forces to create artworks of neon light. Hannah then reconfigures the emotional connection of the typography and colour in each object so that alternate meanings are conveyed. Her work will then lead the direction for traditionally trained neon glass blower, Michael Blazek, to bend the neon pipe and capture the glowing beauty. The exhibition also features works that have been created using letterpress thanks to Clint Harvey, the letterpress wizard at the Bacon Factory in Brisbane. Works have been created using many found objects such as vintage linoleum, fishing floats, surfboard fins and more. What we have left is nothing short of a modern nostalgic trip and glowing sensory experience with a dab of fun.
