Little apple dolls

What a sweet mold! The doll and backstory are not my style.

From that Chaos, a safe Haven will be born; the Inbetween. Created by British Doll Maker Ufuoma Urie, this series follows the stories of a group of little girls and one boy whose lives are ended by a mysterious force, usually via supernatural means; Suicide , Murder , etc Anyone Can Die , even cute little kids. In the beginning, Sine , a little girl, dies unexpectedly from a disease, which is caused by the series' Big Bad. She ends up in an afterlife where little boys and girls who share a similar fate are, only to realize that not everything is truly as it seems.

Here's everything removed from the box:. I received a mysterious package at my door with my address but no name. The shoes are extremely difficult to get off.

What a sweet mold! The doll and backstory are not my style. It is definitely a haunting story! I find I am still thinking about it today. Can you picture this doll posed on a shelf next to Disney's Rapunzel and a few Liv dolls? She doesn't really fit in, to say the least. I think I need to reorganize my collection! I love different dolls, she is so creepy and cute at the same time. It's too bad the hair is so bad, if a person was at all good at rerooting doll hair it probably wouldn't be much of an issue.

An apple doll , also known as an apple-head or applehead doll , is a North American folk craft in which the doll's head is made from a dried apple. In modern times, apple dolls are mostly used as decorations or to display craftsmanship , rather than as children's toys. Because of the different effects drying produces, no two dolls are alike. In colonial America , white settlers and enslaved people fashioned children's toys from utilitarian objects and materials on hand such as corn husks, clothes-pins and rags , using ingenuity and imagination. As colonists came into contact with Native peoples, they copied their dolls; Native peoples also began to make brightly and elaborately costumed apple-head dolls to sell to tourists. The doll is made in two parts: the head and the body. To make the head, an apple is peeled, then the flesh is carved or pressed using a spoon and paring knife to create the facial features of the doll. In some early examples, the facial features and expressions were produced by pinching the apple as it began to shrink. Next the apple is pierced to the core with a wire and left to dry for up to 30 days. It can be immersed in lemon juice for a day to prevent its turning black.

When I first discovered Tangkou nobody was even sure if they were still being produced. She stayed there and gave out candles to lost souls, for protection. I love your Flickr album, too. But wait a minute--try looking at another picture of Erro and this time, try to see the wandering, lost little girl searching for a magical apple's protection. Well done! I find these dolls fascinating, and you're right, the newer versions are much better. She stole a knife and stabbed Fax to steal his fire, but he burnt her face and she fell out of his fortress into the Wandering Wood, even before Sine's arrival. I find that if she has any shadows cast across her face at all, she takes on a very sinister expression:. Erro's outfit is a simple bibbed dress. You make the pigtail trick look easy--it's definitely worth a try, although keeping the tangles out of the hair for the five minute it'll take me to do the braiding might be a challenge. It looks better over the bangs because of the painted hair on the mask.

From that Chaos, a safe Haven will be born; the Inbetween.

She originally spoke to the apples in her garden for company before her death, and blessed or cursed, whichever you prefer the apples so that they could guide lost souls to the Inbetween. My dress has dirty smudges in some places. Who knew. I like Animula a lot, although it's too bad the hat isn't like the promo pictures! Driven to Suicide : Animula opted to kill herself at age seven instead of being murdered, forced into a marriage, or turned into a demon. Anyway, after I removed those irritating plastic strips from the hair, I had to brush it. Currently, Little Apple Dolls are being made in small editions by Yurei and sold through her company, Screaming Matriarch love that name. I would love to reroot her hair. When I first discovered Tangkou nobody was even sure if they were still being produced. April W. Posing a Sekiguchi doll next to a Marie Osmond doll would be a striking contrast, wouldn't it?
