Here, the process continues with a skilful rebuild of the Average White Band hit which becomes a slick and effective disco stomper with strong '70s overtones. But it sadly lacks adventure.

So, where did I go? There has been much development going on along the waterfront of late and it also has some of the most interesting visitor attractions in Scotland. The building itself is actually the most impressive thing about it however and so far the permanent collections are a bit sparse.

Similarly earthbound are the ageing "boy" band East In the wake of various punch-ups, drug controversies and a rebranding as E17 cruelly dubbed "17 Es" , they were last sighted playing university balls, minus lead singer Tony Mortimer. As more acts hit the reunion circuit this summer, there will be more public calamities. But what about the artists?

How time flies. Although the pieces that comprised AWB in the early years have since splintered, Average White Band lives on with Onnie McIntyre and Alan Gorrie — original band members — still performing with zest, supported by the brilliant lead vocals of Brent Carter. As for the splinters, they have carved out splendid careers for themselves. Albums — and successful ones at that — have followed.
