It said it was for Synaptics, Elan, Alps. I clicked to install, and it looked like it was going to install Synaptics, which is what I want; but the text was cut off so I wasn't sure. I've checked around on this site, especially the suggested questions that appeared as I typed this question, and tried going to the device manager and picking a driver to update. March 11, Ask a new question. I was searching for information on reversing the direction of the touchpad scrolling. I came across information on a thread here about updating drivers. After doing so and restarting my computer, the touchpad stopped working completely. When I tried to go back and update the drivers again, the touchpad was completely missing from the Device Manager before doing so I attached a wireless mouse and am currently using that. That device is listed as the only device under 'mice and other pointing devices'. Was this reply helpful?
