Sign In. Midnight Sun Hide Spoilers. I watch a ton of foreign murder series. All the "big" name ones, and tons of mediocre, not so great ones. Midnight Sun was gripping. I enjoy when I watch a series and learn about other cultures at the same time. A big part of this story involved the "Sami" people. The series has a mix of French, English and Swedish, so you do need subtitles. I enjoyed the mix. I had never heard of these people, and it was interesting to do a little research and learn. I felt the actors were top notch. Some of these reviews complained when one of the policemen makes an early exit from the show.

By Peter Debruge. Chief Film Critic. After steering a rented boat a certain distance offshore, the ever-impulsive Damien an astonishing, exhausting performance from Damien Bonnard spontaneously dives overboard, leaving his boy, Amine Gabriel Merz Chammah , alone at the helm. But neither do they understand them, limited as their perspective of mental health might be at that age. Compelling as the moment-by-moment fate of this family may be, what grips us most is watching Bonnard and Bekhti become their respective characters — twin planets, each possessing a magnetic-to-behold sense of gravity, who orbit harmoniously at times, and at others smash violently into one another.

Nevertheless, when the next bunch of roses turn up on his car he throws them to the ground. I think the acting was pretty good. Finally, when the old woman survives the operation, Paul recites back to her the names of her murdered family. That is the advantage when a series or film is from nearby. I wanted to give this a higher score, but I just found myself so frustrated with some parts, to the point that frustration was probably my overall feeling. Honestly, 'over-wrought" would be an under-statement both in terms of the production and the lead female's acting - tho I suspect that's how the director told her to play it. The man informs the assistant that he must have this oven today because it is his son's Birthday, so he will pick out any old random, untested oven, no doubt it will just fit perfectly into his kitchen, he will personally wire it up, and bravo he will cook his son a cake. What a great show. Everything is just right and all actions and events can be well explained by the characters of all the characters. The scenery is beautiful. Set in a beautiful town, the mystery deepens with each episode and will leave you on the edge of your seat. An error has occured. Bottom line: I did so much enjoy this series that I was almost speechless at times.

What a great show. The Oscarizable film by the film director of Baron Noir. What about the new thriller with Blake Lively? It felt so much more genuine and an interesting thread throughout the series. Cinema: the most anticipated films of the fall. And the direction and production of the series seemed to think this was the best part of the whole shebang so they draw out excruciatingly long scenes with her having tiresome "moments" of drama with god- awful overly dramatic violin music in the background making it even more headache inducing. The Best Exhibitions Free! A glamorous Parisian cop investigates a death in remote northern Scandinavia in this intriguing series opener. It actually irritated me enough to think about turning it off right then and there. Meanwhile Lucie needs to deal with her unstable sister Mathilde, and Paul's business partner in his private practice, Gerard, seems to have an unusual interest in Pau's wife Lucie. Again - it's a wonder I kept watching coz that unrealistic level of stupidity usually sends me screaming off to watch something else. And OK some slightly stiff acting at times but credible and worth persevering By the end, all will be clear, but you will find it hard to decide whether you are sympathetic to the killer s or the deceased The problem, though, is that it is not his.
