The raw bar sits beneath a foot skylight and features a living wall and mirrored barnacles, while the downstairs dining room has a sea-blue floor and an exposed, original stone wall it is dubbed The Grotto. Can you tell me about this mythology and how it influenced the concept and design of this restaurant? We always wanted to open a seafood restaurant and offer it at an affordable price in a beautiful setting. When looking for inspiration, it came to mind that my name itself is a beautiful town in port city in Greece and also a sea creature in Greek mythology.

It was an amazing Saturday afternoon in New York City. Streets were closed off for block parties, Harlem was having its festival weekend, and Times Square is back like it never left. I decided to hit the East Village with my teen son and grab a bite. On this day, it was time to switch it up. Finally, I found a place to get a taste of real Mediterranean food. The different blues of the ocean, the brass decor against the walls, and the shine from the tiles. They purposely wanted you to feel like you were at a dock or on the bottom of the inside of a huge ship. It also felt very familiar with lots of good energy. Just reminded me of my travels to Greece or the South of France. The joy and excitement that reservation had just bounced along the walls and made the restaurant electric. I ordered the shakshuka, which had calamari, octopus, and shrimp stewed in a red sauce served along with toasted slices of fresh garlic bread. My first time having this dish and I must say I would definitely have it again.
