Pac-Man [a] is a Japanese video game franchise developed, published and owned by Bandai Namco Entertainment , a video game publisher that was previously known as Namco. Entries have been developed by a wide array of other video game companies, including Midway Games , Atari and Mass Media, Inc. The eponymous first entry was released in arcades in by Namco, and published by Midway Games in North America. Most Pac-Man games are maze chase games, but it has also delved into other genres, such as platformers , racing , and sports. Several games in the series were released for a multitude of home consoles and are included in many Bandai Namco video game compilations.

Pakkuman , is a side-scrolling point-and-click adventure game in the Pac-Man series developed and published by Namco. Instead of being a maze game like the majority of its predecessors, Pac-Man 2 incorporates light point-and-click adventure game elements. The game borrows its structure and certain elements from Pac-Land , and also appears to contain certain elements from the animated series , such as Pac-Man's family and a main villain commanding the ghosts. Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures is a graphic adventure game , a vast departure from its predecessors. Players assume the role of Pac-Man as he must carry out different quests given to him by other characters.
