Fender Rhodes key bass in Kansas City. For that price, I'd schedule a flight and a meeting with a "client" and grab lunch at Max's while I'm at it. Sorry but I am not up on my Rhodes knowledge. Is the Rhodes Key Bass any different than the bass portion of a Rhodes piano? Is there a different sound, do they use different tines? I've never heard one of these in person. I mean if I have an 88 is this key bass gonna sound way different or is the main purpose just to have a separate board to run to a bass amp. I know the guy in the Doors used one but can't think of anyone else. Are there any other good examples of this in the wild on recordings, not YouTube guys? Can't say if there are any other songs On the record though but if you search on youtube, there are many videos of him playing it. Fun fact: the Rhodes key bass actually went into production before the Mark I, so really, if you think about it, the 73s and 88s are larger versions of the key bass, rather than the other way around.
