Hart D. Fisher born May 27, [1] is an American horror crime author, comic book writer and publisher best known for creating a comic book about Jeffrey Dahmer [2] and for founding Boneyard Press. Fisher graduated in with a fine and applied arts bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana—Champaign. In , while still in college, Fisher founded the publisher, Boneyard Press, in Champaign, Illinois. Fisher credits another artist, Mark Beachum , as his inspiration to create his own company. The comic was released in spring , just a few months after Dahmer was sentenced to life in prison for his horrific crimes.

An Unauthorized Biography of a Serial Killer', Al Hanford is a presumably U. Released only a few months after the arrest of notorious serial murderer Jeffrey Dahmer, the comic caused tremendous controversy. Critics felt the book was exploitative and in bad taste, and some families of the victims sued Boneyard Press. But the publication also increased Boneyard's notoriety and sales, paving the way for several other comics about Dahmer and other real-life controversial people. From this viewpoint, Hanford was responsible for the company's breakthrough.
