Ishizu primarily plays an Egyptian Themed Fairy Deck in the anime. In various video games, she uses a wide variety of themes and monsters. To counter Seto Kaiba 's strategy of sending large amounts of cards to her Graveyard , her Deck revolved around returning his cards to his Deck so that she could activate " Exchange of the Spirit " and cause him to Deck Out. Yami Marik mentioned that Ishizu even defeated Marik in the past with her Deck. Ishizu appears in Yu-Gi-Oh! Ishizu's deck consists of powerful female Monsters augmented by some of the most powerful Magic Cards in the game. Her most powerful Monster is Cosmo Queen.

YCS Pasadena's this weekend, and tomorrow the highly anticipated holiday set arrives! It's one of the hottest sets of the year, bringing tons of new support for fan-favorite waifu archetypes. Sky Striker, Witchcrafters, and Mayakashi all get brand-new support cards, as well as a ton of much-needed reprints for those strategies, and many others. Ever since they were confirmed to be in MAMA, the most anticipated cards are actually being anticipated for the wrong reason. So what are the Ishizu cards? They aren't really a theme on their own. Instead, these four new monsters are all upgraded versions of their predecessors from Dark Crisis: Keldo , Agido , Mudora , and Kelbek. But suddenly these four monsters all work together to create a strategy similar to what Ishizu was actually going for when she dueled in the Battle City tournament, in the original anime. Ever since the Ishizu Fairies were released in the OCG, players in Japan have combined them with Tearlaments to create a new variant of the deck; one that starts a deadly series of chains that can be triggered just by milling three cards. These four new, retrained monsters can be separated into two pairs, and they each function similarly to their partner. But they all work together based around the classic card Exchange of the Spirit. They were Normal Monsters in the anime, but became Effect Monsters when released in the card game. Its " Gravekeeper's " connections associate Ishizu's cards with the "Gravekeeper's" archetype. This GY effect serves to recover the player's resources, prevent the opponent from utilizing their GY resources, and, if they are chained to "Exchange of the Spirit", mill out more cards at the resolution of "Exchange of the Spirit". It also provides a floodgate effect to lock down the oppponent's GY, preventing the mill strategy from inadvertently benefitting the opponent.
