Shanks finally gets a proper chance to show off his power, and he does it in one of the biggest ways possible when he takes out Kid with a single attack, immediately kickstarting the destruction of the Kid Pirates as a whole. During the Wano arc, Kid was established as a top-tier fighter for not only being able to hold his own against Big Mom, but for how he was able to eventually defeat her with help from Law. With that in mind, if Shanks could so easily defeat Kid, then that would logically make Shanks stronger than Big Mom and one of the stronger members of the Four Emperors. The idea of Shanks being one of the strongest Emperors is even stronger when Kaido is taken into account. Considering how much the series had been building up Shanks finally taking on an active role, his having that sort of ranking would be more than appropriate.
