When excessive amounts of oil pass through the intake the engine hydro-locks, this means the piston in the squeeze portion of its cycle is forced to attempt to compress a fluid, in this case oil.

I was gobsmacked to say the least. The technician did soften the blow to say he was going to recommend they replace the engine and pay the cost. I am praying they will pay for this. Surely this is a manufacturing error, poor quality parts. I could have been killed if something had been coming the other way when I was overtaking and lost all power both my kids were in the car too!! I would appreciate to hear from anyone else who has been through this and did you get the costs paid for by landrover??
