Plus the remains towards the outside of the Hive on the right made me excited for a really great boss fight. From what the bee spirit said I feel like the bees were one of the most rounded cultures in the game yet we got very little of them. It was lackluster. Bees make one of the most awesome bosses in video games and it's just sad you didn't take the opportunity. Bad idea just for lore. Even when I love The Hive it would really mess up the lore of the bees. The bees are not part of the kingdom, just neighbors, like the Mantis and the Spiders and also his queen is dead and all the bees infected so it would have no sense But maybe there could be a DLC where you can come back to the memories of the Ancient HIve, or maybe in the Hornet DLC. Unfortunately the bees are indeed infected. While im certaintly not going to question them being infected if Team Cherry confirmed it themselves, it does seem rather strange considering that the bee's do not attack you if you wear the Hiveblood charm. If they were infected they should still attack you regardless no? I was just impressed that they put so many new art assets into what was essentially just a place to find a charm. The amount of work that has gone into even small bits of the game is pretty amazing.
I've seen all types pass below, but you Entry to the kingdom was forbidden long ago, supposedly after some great calamity. Iselda cannot be accessed normally.
The Hive is a Location in Hollow Knight. Please see Walkthrough for other areas. The Hive is an area that consists of a large community of bees and warriors in which a queen ruled and eventually, grew large until it could no longer leave - it was hidden away and was walled off from the kingdom of Hallownest to try and protect itself from the spread of The Infection. To reach The Hive, you'll need to find the Tram Pass which is found at the Failed Tramway in the northeast side of Deepnest and you'll need to have the Vengeful Spirit spell and at least the Monarch Wings and Mantis Claw abilities for traversing the area. Once you have the Tram Pass , ride the tram and go to the eastern side of the map towards Kingdom's Edge. From the tram, head east until you see a few small bees called Hivelings flying around, this indicates that you're near the entrance. Just behind the bees is a breakable wall which can only be destroyed by using the Vengeful Spirit spell - use the spell to open up the path that will take you to The Hive.

If he is saved in Greenpath, Zote shows up in Dirtmouth, where he once again talks to the Knight in an arrogant fashion. Zote can be found in a corridor leading back to the storerooms of the City of Tears. He has forgotten the Knight and introduces himself again. Found stuck in spider webs, presumably having been captured by the beasts of Deepnest. Once again the Knight has the choice to either save him or leave him, though this time leaving him does not result in his death.
