Bleach is a long-running Big Three anime series whose protagonist, Ichigo Kurosaki, is always learning new tricks to defeat his enemies. Like his shonen counterparts, Naruto Uzumaki and Monkey D. Luffy, Ichigo trains hard to acquire new powers over the course of a long story and will keep using his best techniques to win the day. Ichigo's Hollow mask is a classic example since it saved his life against multiple Espadas, but it won't last forever. Soon, Ichigo Kurosaki and all Bleach fans will say goodbye to that iconic mask. Ichigo's Hollow mask made its sinister debut in the Soul Society story arc, and then Ichigo mastered his mask and inner Hollow in time for the Hueco Mundo story arc. Even Ulquiorra admitted that Ichigo is at his strongest when that mask is on, so Bleach anime fans might expect Ichigo to put on that mask for the final fight against the Wandenreich, the hidden Quincy empire. For multiple reasons, Ichigo actually won't use his mask again — he's got something even better in mind. Starting in the Soul Society story arc, Bleach protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki struggled with his inner Hollow, his mask, and everything they represented. The first major instance of this took place during Ichigo's climactic duel with Captain Byakuya Kuchiki, where Ichigo slowly fell behind even with his new bankai, Tensa Zangetsu , in hand. Ichigo fought well, but Byakuya eventually had him on the ropes, and Ichigo feared that he was doomed. That was when his inner Hollow took over, forming its trademark mask over Ichigo's face and aggressively fighting Byakuya with feral instincts alone. Despite this sudden boon, Ichigo feared this new power, and he felt it was dishonorable to win that way. So, Ichigo tore off his mask, and he fought Byakuya to a standstill on his own.

He takes over the fight, and Zangetsu is quickly brought to his fighting limit. Monkey D. When Kensei uses his Shikai 's special ability, Ichigo's body begins to undergo serious Hollowfication, becoming a reptilian looking Hollow, hollow ichigo.

When he takes over the fight, the manifestation is quickly brought to his fighting limit. Although the manifestation manages to injure him, his High-Speed Regeneration heals the wounds, and he assumes his full Hollow form. Fearing this new development, Muramasa begins to attack Hollow Ichigo, but is effortlessly driven back.

Urahara manages to restore Ichigo's powers, but his Reiatsu is unstable, for the Modified Soul was incomplete. Hollow Form : When Hollow Ichigo takes full possession of Ichigo's body, the body undergoes a full transformation into a Hollow creature. Since Ichigo developed Hollow Ichigo as a result from nearly becoming one while having his Shinigami powers restored , Zangetsu and the Hollow are both the source of Ichigo's power and share the same spiritual body in Ichigo's inner world, the stronger presence retaining more control and overall appearance of their body; in which case, the spirit of Hollow Ichigo takes the form of an all-white clothes and being , somewhat deranged version of Shinigami Ichigo with a strong desire take control of Ichigo's body and power for himself. The mask was gone again for a time. However, he was overcome by Ichigo. Zangetsu proves to be superior in both speed and strength, forcing Muramasa to instead rely on his invisible binding powers to restrain him like he restrained Ichigo. He can catch Zangetsu in the air and then make a salto before landing. Muramasa then attempts to take control of Ichigo's inner Hollow by "freeing" his true desires, only for Hollow Ichigo to smirk and attack him.
