This is maybe a very pointless topic, but I have been thinking about this for a while, so meh. Is interesting to look back when Hitomi was introduced, basically she was almost treated as a second Kasumi with a lot of relevance in the marketing of the games. This is especially notorious in the first Dead or Alive Xtreme game where she is CLEARLY the main poster girl of the game, being in the boxart only her in JP and EU and she with Tina and Lisa in US , the cover of the manual, had a special figma figure and if you see trailers and marketing for the game she is all over the place while Kasumi is barely in them at all I also think Hitomi has the hottest annimations in the game but that's just my opinion. While this never happened again she still was treated as one of the main DOA girls only second to Kasumi, even surpassing Ayane for Tecmo. Her las moment of glory was probably DOA Paradise where she and Kasumi are basically treated equally as the poster girls of the game, they even had a weird alarm phone app or something like that. However after DOA 5 while Hitomi was selected with Ayane as the girls for the first demo of the game, after that Hitomi didn't really recieve that much attention in comparison to the rest of the girls and especially after the debut of Marie Rose and Honoka she has never been a series main girl again and Ayane took her place.
Aside from the cameo, Hitomi's sweet and bubbly personality was given to Helena's character in the film.
