One of the greatest adversaries the show has ever seen! Know to be the "queen of mean" but how did she come to be like this? Let's start with what happened before the show even started. We never know what caused Heather to be mean but I can guess why it continued. In TDA:Aftermath, Heather mentions that her parents tried electrotherapy on her to try and make her nicer. This may have given her a lot of trauma since that she was being shocked so young. She was constantly hurt by her family so I'm guessing her being mean was a mechanism to fight back, trying to make sure that she could be in control and not get hurt anymore. Not to mention in her video from home, her parents were celebrating her leave and moving all her stuff out the house. Whilst she was working hard in Total Drama, her parents were having a personal party about her absence. Imagine expecting a nice little message from your parents, only to catch them moving all your possessions out. Her parents probably expected that she would win through her meanness and thought she would move out straight after she got the money.

Her parents are thrilled to get her out of the house in her video from home, not just throwing a party, but even selling all her personal belongings though with Heather being a total Hate Sink in the original Island , the audience was likely meant to side with them. Heather also claims in Action that her parents sent her to electroshock therapy as a child to make her nicer. She started out as a member of the Screaming Gophers team in the first season, and she claimed leadership of the team during that season. She auditioned for the show in hopes of using it as a training ground for her long-term goal, in her words, "of ruling Europe", and she becomes determined to win the competition by any means necessary. Heather's ethnicity is Asian as confirmed by former series director and character designer Todd Kaufmann [1] , although she is not given a specific Asian ethnicity , making her one of the few TDI characters whose ethnic background is known. She comes from a well-to-do background; as seen in her audition tape for the show, she emerges from pampering herself in the shower in a fancy bathroom while discussing why she wants to be a contestant on TDI. Although she is quite pretty and she fancies herself as popular, Heather also posesses a very unpleasant personality. She is stuck-up and snobby and is often mean-spirited, bossy and bitchy to teammates and opponents alike, and she does not hesitate to use and take advantage of other campers for personal gain including pretending to befriend those she chooses, such as Lindsay and Beth , then dumping them when they serve no further purpose to her. She also frequently walks around with her fists clenched, as if she is ready for a fight, and she has been known to get physically aggressive with some of the other players, even going so far as to assault Owen and Tyler more than once on several occasions. Heather also harbors a jealous streak toward Gwen , whom she personally regards as a threat to her in the game and therefore targets for retribution in various ways, including stealing and publicly reading Gwen's diary during a talent competiton exposing Gwen's crush on Trent in the process and later plotting to break up Gwen and Trent through nefarious means. Heather makes her way through the show, winning challenges and thus often gaining immunity from elimination from the game, through cheating, sabotage, manipulation and deceit.
