Established inthe school offers guildhall alumni and postgraduate training in all aspects of classical music and jazz along with drama and production arts. Based within the Barbican Centre in the City of Londonthe school currently numbers just over 1, students, approximately of whom are music students and on the drama and technical theatre programmes. It also has formed a creative alliance with its neighbours, guildhall alumni, the Barbican Centre and the London Symphony Orchestra. The Guildhall School of Music first opened its doors on 27 Septemberhoused in a disused warehouse in the City of London.
