DarkRP is a non-serious roleplay gamemode developed by FPtje Falco Peijnenburg over the last 8 years, over this time it has grown into one of, if not the biggest gamemode in all of Garry's Mod. Modifying DarkRPs default settings is simplified by using an addon called DarkRP Modification created by FPtje to stop people from editing the core files and breaking stuff. DarkRP is expansive even beyond the DarkRP gamemode itself, people modify it into other Roleplay gamemodes such as the following. Modifying the default DarkRP gamemode into other gamemodes is not recommended and you should use a different Roleplay Base designed to be modified or use the DarkRP Derived. Because DarkRP is used so widely a lot of paid and non-paid addons support it unlike other Roleplay Gamemodes that are out there making it perfect for a quick plug and play server. I've been playing gmod for years, and I still remember the good old days when the only RPs in the multiplayer list was Darkrp and some afghanistan rp, both really non serious and people who didnt care about a VIP or didnt care about crying for rdm and friendliness, now gmod is basically populated by butthurt nerds who took rp to an other level and polluted gmod with their unoriginal servers that are all carbon copies but that somehow manage to have 70 daily players or more. I did all i could do. Dude let people play what they want. It's also the same in ARMA 3. It's a milsim game, but people play that gay ass roleplay. This is like a national socialist versus libertarian thread lol. You make some good points but it's not really going to change anything because the simple solution is "If you don't like RP servers, don't play them". There's plenty of other game modes besides RP ones. People enjoy playing their RP servers, they don't really want a change, even if servers are utter cancer with banhappy admins. John wick maps?
