An unplanned but much needed night in Revelstoke, British Columbia turned out to be quite the delicious stop over. While almost every little mountain town we drove through on this trip seemed to have a little natural foods store, Revelstoke was like hitting a jackpot in terms of allergen friendly food. So much so, that I'm absolutely positive I must return - after all, Revelstoke could be the next Whistler check out the length of these runs. I found this great foodie article about Revelstoke's speciality food merchants and wished I could have visited every spot on the list. Even with the cabin looking exterior, from the website I expected to walk into to a rather fancy establishment complete with white tablecloths. Instead, I was greeted with a wood walled cabin slash diner interior lit with soft light and candles. Immediately, I felt at home - if I lived locally, this is the kind of place I would eat all the time. At the front desk, the bistro keeps a chart to provide allergy information on all their dishes - which made it incredibly simple to cross reference my needs for a gluten and cows milk dairy free meal. I ended up with the wild salmon which came with a very thoughtful selection of produce. As opposed to a standard over steamed set of veggies - the large fillet of salmon was perched atop a heaping selection of acorn squash, broccolini, Paris Market carrots, and three types of citrus. On our way out of town, we wanted to check out a local coffee establishment - preferably one of the most hippy dippy variety.

I wish I could give them 5 stars because the food was really good. I am a tequila girl, so obviously shots were ordered.
