Minecraft Live is almost here, and to celebrate, Mojang is holding another mob contest! Just like last year with the Glow Squid, the Minecraft community gets to choose one of three brand-new mobs to be added to the game. The Glare is a friendly mob that floats around. Its physical appearance resembles that of a flying bush with shifty-looking eyes. Glares will float around and mind their own business, but they can be tamed if you feed them enough Glow Berries. The Glare will start shuffling back and forth with a menacing look in its eyes to let you know of the danger. The Glare is one of the three new mobs that can be added to Minecraft.

The creature is described as a helpful little green box-like creature that can alert players when they are in an area dark enough for hostile mobs to spawn. A Glare will fly into dark areas and start acting "grumpy," alerting the player with key sounds when they are in a place dark enough for monsters. Players can also take the glares with them and presumably deploy them when they want to know if a dark cave or an area is dark enough for a hostile mob to spawn.
