Sarutobi is introduced in chapter 40 of the manga and episode 22 of the anime. During one of her assassin missions she falls through the roof and lands on a sleeping Gintoki. This makes the Yorozuya trio believe that Gintoki has slept with her, she uses this to her advantage pretending that is indeed what happened so she can use Gintoki to finish her mission. Afterwards Sarutobi comes clean but Gintoki already figured out the truth by this point. He tells her next time she needs help she should just come to Yorozuya normally because he is willing to assist her on his own. This really resonated with Sarutobi and made her develop a crush on Gintoki. Her crush also awakened her masochist side which lead to her stalking of Gintoki.
